Figured I'd get this up and going again. Popped in to see Rob yesterday and picked up a few things. i7 4790, Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3P, Fractal Design Arc XL The CPU is fast, the motherboard is tiny, and the case is HUGE. Very easy case to work with and the cable management is excellent. For the first ti...

Good to know someone still sticks with AMD.
I'm considering switching over to the dark side, but going with a Xeon.

Yeah, I got one of those things. I haven't bothered to use it as I've actually enjoyed mucking about with the settings. Trying different EQ and pre-amp settings along with changing the per channel gain to see what sounds best.

What do you use from your Sony TV for an audio output to the receiver? The only audio output my LG TV seems to support is optical. There's a hell of a lot of settings on this receiver and getting just the right combination of settings for the right number of speakers is quite the pain in the butt, b...

Ok, so this project is slightly on hold. I am currently piecing together a component home theatre system. Operation "annoy the neighbours" is on in full force. I have a 7.1 receiver and a set of bookshelf speakers up and going now. I have a centre channel on the way. Then I'll be ordering ...

Got myself a GTX760 today. Will be installing tomorrow.
Faster and less power hungry than my Radeon 6950 if the reviews are to be believed.
This is the first brand new nVidia card I've bought since my FX5200 way back in the day. The "Dawn of Cinematic Computing" it was not. haha.

My oldest would be from some time in the summer of 2002 and it was a Geforce2 MX400 AGP. The cost was probably around the $100 mark. I know I don't have that receipt anymore. After that it would have been my first custom PC that Chantal helped me with parts selection on during a Saturday in June 200...

Discussion is more than welcome here!! I'm looking towards nVidia as well for my video card replacement. I'm not mining and the miners are forcing the price of AMD cards through the roof. It's to the point that replacing what I have, as old as it is, is not worth it. Seems to be a little more gaming...
