Rob hates me cuz I buy all sorts of boutique stuff.

Anywho, finally got my replacement SSD, which is indeed newer, as shown below.

That's one of my older SSD's

that's the newer one. Same firmware, but there is some bursting above the 140MB barrier and it shows up as an SSD on the controller instead of a "SATA" device.

That is 1024k stripe size, 64k cluster size on newest controller firmware. In windows 7

Same, but older Firmware in XP.

Well considering that my Adaptec controller was gone for over a month and then my drive died the day it plugged back into the controller, it's been a long time.

God damnit, might have to go SSD instead of a new case for my rig.

Seriously, from my results at the workplace, SSD's give as much performance boost as any ram/cpu/gcard upgrade.

I watched a Dell Latitude laptop with a 64gb SSD boot to Win7 in less than 10 seconds the other day. Blew my mind away.

So can someone tell me why my graph is so jumpy and Steve-o's is nice and smooth?

What's your controller (mine's a 2405)? What are the number and size/type of yer SSD's?

Cluster and stripe size?

5805? Damn, hook up 4 more drives and you've just...

...gone plaid!

It's pretty much exactly the same card as mine, I guess it would have to do with the drives or the stripe size.
