hey i just seen steves benching hes been doing with his ssd. and i got curious. i uninstalled my ssd awhile ago it just kept getting slower and slower so i went back to spinning hard drives. i got 2 Seagate 7200 rpm 32mb cache 1 TB drives. and i put them in raid 0 on my xfx 790i with the nvidia raid on board controller. got some decent bench marks if ya ask me. but what do i know rofl so this is why im asking YOU guys :)
random access 15.3 lol could that be effected by me having other programs open? just like xfire msn and outlook.

Cheers

Onboard controllers are crap, as far as i'm concerned.

those results don't look too bad.
they're about what i'd expect for those hard drives on an onboard controler.
i had 2 seagate 500GB w/32MB cache drives in a raid 0 on my 790X (SB600) based board and had slightly slower results than you.

the real question is, why was the SSD slowing down on you?

He was probably suffering from the stutter step and clogging that intel SSD's are infamous for, not worth the 500$ for 120GB.

yeah i read all kinds of people have issues with these intel ssd. there out on rma now. and when i get them back i will probably be selling them. fast boot up times for the first month. then it slows the hell down and my desktop gets all choppy. i think im gonna get 2 or maybe 4 more 1 tb Samsung drives and extend the raid volume. im also looking into buying a raid card.

ps i wish i only paid 500. try closer to 750 each lool
