Post subject:  Windows 7 network drops

Hey guys. I have a bunch of shares set up on my desktop (running Windows 7 (x86 :( ) Business), and am trying to use them from my Macbook Pro. However, some time into the transfer, my network connection (on the desktop) will just drop. And it won't just drop, it won't even reconnect. I have to disable the network adapter and reenable it to make it connect again.

Speed doesn't seem to be a factor. Happens while transferring over wireless and gigabit lan.

Time/burst doesn't really seem to be a factor either. I torrent all the time, maxing my connection, and never disconnect. It's only when I transfer files via shared folders, and seems to only be when transferring to my Mac.

Anyone have any ideas?

Found the solution buried away on some forum. Seems to be a problem with Atheros L1 Gigabit chips.

Solution is to go into the Advanced tab of the driver page, and disable Task Offload. Everything works great now.
