My cramped mess!

the nuts and bolts

CPU: Athlon X2 5200+
CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Big Typhoon without fan due to lack of clearance
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4
RAM: 4GB SuperTalent DDR2 800 (4x1GB)
Video: Radeon HD5750 512MB
HDD1: 320GB WD Black 7200RPM laptop drive
HDD2: 1TB WD Green
Case: Coolermaster Elite 360
PSU: Seasonic 650W
Audio: Auzentech HDA X-Plosion

I think I'll need a modular psu in order to keep living in this case. Way too many wires i can't tuck away anywhere due to the fact that every hiding place is already packed with extra cables.

Nice work making that cooler fit in there! Thats a small case but with that 5750 and brisbane in there i bet it never gets too hot.

it's an undervolted Windsor and it does overheat when gaming unfortunately.
stock is 1.35v and i have it at 1.15v. any lower and it gets unstable.

Ahhh I just figured a majority of the 5200's I see are brisbanes. I see why the cooler was necessary..

Ginormous pics are ginormous! Good shoe.

I would think getting a larger case would be roughly equal in price to getting a modular PSU and solve more than just one issue you're having.

Yeah man - get yourself an CM690II Advanced. Sell that case to claim some of the money back on a new one

Very reasonable priced (~100 bucks) and wicked amounts of room, pre cut holes for cable mgt etc.

i have a P180B sitting in my closet (it's for sale btw).
there is a method to my madness behind getting the elite 360. mostly to make it easier to transport the thing around.

I would actually get a smaller/lower profile HSF for your CPU before getting a new PSU. Cable clutter is ugly and it can hurt your temps a bit, but not as much as not actually having a fan directly on the heat sink.

And that is where something like the H50 would be perfect.

Would the tubing used in the H50 kit be flexible enough to bend in that tight space? Just looking at the photos I would think it would have to make quite the bend where the tubing comes off the block in order to fit in there with the top of the case on, but then again I've never seen the H50 in person. :?

I found the tubing very rigid. Depending where the rad is mounted, you should be ok.

To bad Thermaltake doesn't make THESE anymore, I've got one and they're the bee's knee's for lugging a PC around.

Post subject:  Re: I Present to You

i don't even want to think about trying to squeeze an H5O in there
only place i could mount the rad is in the 120mm space on the right hand side immdiately above the CPU. that would be a pain in the arse that i don't want to bother with.

before i get too crazy i think i'll just mess with the fan contol settings to crank the fans up higher sooner. that'll probably fix me up right there.

as for the transporting thing, it's not the carrying. its the physical space it takes in the car. for the real moving in the not too distant future i'll be cramming as much in as possible so if i can shrink things then it's all the better.

The H50 has some competition.

The ECO A.L.C gives as good or better results, has a smaller footprint, and costs about $20 less than the H50.

I really recommend you try to increase the airflow, that cooler you got in there should be enough to keep it cool at those clocks.
