Pop in a bunch of bigass hard drives and you got a good HTPC or something, unless the case is a POS. |

so, started combining parts from both systems and this is what iv come up with: Phenom II x4 965BE @3.9ghz(for now just waiting for the am3 bracket for my GTZ to come in, last checked now and is on truck!) that crappy 770-g45 mobo, got a crosshair4 in the works 8 gigs ddr3-1600 (4g or xms3 and 4 gigs ocz obsidian black) 5770 1gig sb auditgy 4 8x bluray/dvd-rw my good water loop (swiftech apogee GTZ, mcr-320 rad, microres2, mcp-655b, but switched everything to 1/2ID tubing) |

With water cooling you should easily get that cpu above 4Ghz, my guess would be 4.1 or 4.2 at least - if not a little further. The corsair xms3 1600 will clock to 2000Mhz you if want it to, with no volt or temp increase whatsoever. I had mine at the max spec the board was supposed to handle which was 1800mhz and again, no volt mod and cool to the touch. OCZ obsidian black runs perfectly well with xms3. I am using 2 gigs of that ocz now with my corsair. Both have the exact same timing and volts. The video card would not require cooling so thats money saved. looking forward to build shots and benches along with oc results! |
