So I've been sitting here, looking at this decent rig sitting in my closet for a while. I wanted to make this my development box for both coding and design. I have wanted a mac for a while now solely for this purpose, but obviously am not spending that kind of money on the real deal.

I've heard about OSX86 over the last year or so with varied results, but am told it really has the kinks worked out now and you can run the latest version of Snow Leopard with full networking, video acceleration and sata support. My friend tells me to use an iAtkos v7 ISO and I got a pretty good understanding of how the process works. Now I'm REALLY hoping that this rig will support it entirely, maybe not out of the box but with the right drivers. AND YES, I have researched and I know this will work on AMD based systems as well, not just intel.

Here will be the setup:

AMD X2 7750 'kuma' @ 2.7ghz
ASUS M4A78 Plus AM2+
4GB Patriot Viper Ram @ 800mhz
160gb Sata HDD (AHCI must be enabled for sata devices)
EVGA 8800GT SC 512mb
480w Enermax PSU

Going to run it thru a USB KVM I reckon but on another 19'' LCD. (so possibly even a software solution like Synergy instead of the KVM)

Also gotta get one of them Apple stickers and do something clever with it for comic relief hahaha

Hoping it all goes smooth, I'll build it sometime this week and let everyone know how it went. But for the time being, has anyone here had any experience with this in the past?

I'm just really happy they finally found the missing piece of the puzzle to get this working on PC hardware, whether it be against their eula or not. This saves us devs a ton of money. I own Photoshop CS5 and Dreamweaver CS5 but not the mac versions, I'm sure I can use my license with them as well though. And there are some really neat text editors for OSX as well.

Did you ever get a hackintosh built? I just installed Snow Leopard on my i5-750.

I used synergy with my last setup in my old place.

Very solid FREE program.

I actually brought my KVM due to it.
