I may just burn down the house, but that's OK, since it's not my house. AMD FX-9590 going into the gamer, and the 8350 gets relegated to the media box. MB still delivers the goods at pretty darn good prices. Steve |

Good to know someone still sticks with AMD. I'm considering switching over to the dark side, but going with a Xeon. |

Well the 9590 worked flawlessly, but putting the 8350 into the other box caused the PSU to mysteriously die. Oh well, shift happens. Oh, and every single 2TB drive I put into the My Cloud EX4 fails the SMART tests hehe. Working as intended! |

Based on your choice and comments Steve along with some information found online, I am going to move to the 9590 in the coming year coupled with an H100 for cooling. For sheer LED blinky affect, Avexir 8GB 1866 Ram Blue LED. Just have to check to ensure the current board I have has a 220w TDP |

looking at the board I run, its a 125w TDP so I am not going to bother with the same CPU. I did however go with AMD's top 125w, the 8370. Benchmarks show performance differences that wont really be seen or felt based on the numbers. hard to beat 225 bones. with that cause the price was 74.99, Avexir DDR3 1600 Blue 8GB kit. Yes with the blue LED's for the blinky effect. Instead of corsair's H100, I went with a Raijintek Triton. Few options that Corsair didnt offer was the see through tubing, included dye for color changes, filler cap so you can change and top it up etc. a steal on sale at 89 bucks After some investigation by NZXT Phantom has L brackets to top mount the 240mm Rad so it got ordered. Its all on the way from Richmond, BC. |
