Drivers in Quebec don't seem to know where they are, where they are going or how they are going to get there!

*Waits for old TrentonWorks and ICT employee's to flood the thread*

lol

Kinda hard not to milk the govt when they're the only way to get money. Check the unemployment rate for NS, it's like that because industry is leaving here.

I'm lucky cuz I work for the same people who sign those pogey checks, so my job is locked in and locked down lol.

But seriously, I've never been to Toronto, although I know plenty from there. They weren't rude or assholes or anything. But I've heard the stereotype for years so it must get like that somehow lol.

I know in Halifax you walk down the street and people actually say hi to you and stop for conversation (if they're not bumming smokes). People in general seem willing to help their fellow man. Maybe thats why we see the rest of the world as assholes....

Wait a sec here, so despite having never been to Toronto, and having met lots of people from here who weren't assholes.........you still strongly suspect that we're a gigantic stereotype.

Nice. But you know what? That was my exact experience when I lived there. Got called an "Upper Canadian" for years. So much for nice old lovey Halifax, huh? That was a really accepting thing to say to someone that chose to uproot and move there. There was also lots and lots of talk about evil Toronto despite the fact that most people hadn't experienced anything past New Brunswick. If that isn't ignorance, I don't know what is.

I knew people in Halifax that locked the doors on their cars when they drove down Gottingen St. for crying out loud! Like people were going to carjack them. What a joke. I found that incredibly telling of the attitude there. Of course if Gottingen St. was gonna scare the crap out of them, Toronto is just plain hell. So when they do actually come here, a lot of people are looking for the worst to justify holding such a horrible attitude. Then they can come back home and regale their friends and family with stories about what a craphole Toronto is.

Small towns and the good ol' east coast aren't the only places in the world where people are nice to each other, FFS. I met tons of pricks in Halifax. Small towns are chock full o' them. Nosey, gossipy bastards that love to smile to your face and stab ya in the back.

And don't get me started on the jobs thing. What you said just supported the stereotype to a T. The really frustrating thing is that people from the east coast love to claim some sort of moral superiority over the rest of Canada, while at the same time, getting the hell out of there to come work at the jobs other provinces provide. I guess we're good for something, despite being assholes.

But oh, Halifax is Happening, right? The only thing happening in Halifax was commercials about how it was happening

It's just relative to peoples experience.

I'm from the East Coast born and raised.

Things I like: Mysterybyte and it's peeps..
Denty (even though he's gay)

dislikes: People can be dicks
Soccer moms are raging bitch drivers from hell
Lots of bad drivers.
Fucking radio commercial with denise the whore. "I love halifax" and talks to random fatasses eating
Harbour Hopper and tour guides pointing to me having a smoke or some shit like im a zoo animal.
Did I mention Bad drivers
All the pubs with the universitys packed around them to the point you cannot walk the streets.
Ricers in point plesant park where you can't even feel safe going in with family due to them drag racing around there and shit.

Personally I like BC. People are real nice and had golden experience there.

B

Am I the only one who gets the uber irony radiating from ninepounds previous post?

Jeez man, started off as a joke, I don't come raging on forums of sites that say something like "All canadians wear snowshoes and live in igloos" I have more important things to be defensive about.

Live and let live is my motto.

Judge people as individuals, and don't build judgements based on what you heard.

And for god sakes, no more jokes on MB, feelings can be hurt and we don't want that.

lol

Feel free to lock up denty, my 2 cents are on the table

If there was some sort of irony contest going on, you'd be the winner my friend.

So yeah, lock this mofo down, Denty. Phonix has had his say so there's no need to go any further. And what do I know? I'm just some ten post noob, right?

Yep they still do.

Everyone of them have a lack of respect for honest drivers.

What the police should do in the interest of tax payers is block off the exit and do a FULL inspection of each car. After a failed inspection the vehicle should be towed and auctioned off.

Ahh yes the famous stereotypes. I know all about it I'm a fisherman and who gets stereotyped in NS anymore than us? Just read some of the comments on the heralds news stories about lobster prices or fisherman in general.

"Fisherman make 80-150 thousand a year drive 50,000 dollar trucks and work 60 days a year and then live off EI the rest of the year and drink and piss all their money away."

This is the one that burns my arse! Been fishing since i was 9 and I'm now 35 and never once I ever come close to making half of 80,000 let alone 150,000. Some years I have spent 200 or more days on the water not to mention the other 50 on land working on gear and the boat ..etc. Plus I also work a second job repairing computers out of my home nights and when I'm not fishing. I been out of school and busting my ass for 20 years and I got my first new car this year because I managed to save some money by cutting back on spending. And that was a Pontiac G5 which isn't exactly a top of the line car. I very seldom drink .. don't do drugs nor smoke cigs. But even given all this I still get categorized in with the worst of the fisherman around and it pisses me off to no end.

Personally I could care less what someone else makes or if they only work 10 days a year to do it. Or if they use EI or are on welfare for that matter. People need to live their own life .. worry about themselves and stop being jealous and/or critical of what others do if it doesn't bother them.
