I've been using RTM on my laptop and desktop for a little over a week. I'm very impressed with it. It's quite snappy, and I've had no crashes yet. No hardware issues either. Definitely worth the time to upgrade (by which I mean do a clean install).

Edit: I'm using x64, on both, to clarify.

I just installed 7 on my desktop and it's very snappy. :) I installed 64 bit first but half of the drivers needed were in 32bit only so I formatted and installed 32. As soon as some the drivers are available I will switch back probably. 64bit would be quite an advantage to me as my video editing apps are 64bit capable and it should decrease my encoding times.

Try burning at a real slow speed? Been reading some people had to do that. I burnt at 4x.

mine worked at 4X -R

Steve-O confirmed this as well a while ago.

You know what sucks about 64bit (in vista or 7 or XP for that matter) is that it's treated like it's second class so to speak. Take my UPS for example .. it's software and drivers are only 32bit which sucks cuz IMO my UPS is a very important part of my system. And if it's not going to shut my computer down when it runs low on battery then half of it's usage is gone out the window. And that is about the only thing that has stopped me from jumping both feet into 64bit of anything.

I know this doesn't really have alot to do with 7 but anyways it bugs me to no end.

Edit: Upon further investigation APC has updated drivers and software to work with X64 in vista.

Windows 7 RC 7600 Build (I believe), and I've had 0 crashes and hit 0 bugs. I pre-ordered Windows 7 Upgrade a few weeks ago when they had that 50% off deal for that short period and am looking forward to it.

Several shots of trying to install/burn Windows 7 RTM failed with corrupt files - downloaded the beta 64 and its amazing. So impressed just after 30 mins of poking around the OS that its eventually going on my main gaming rig.

I really like how it just picked up everything. nice to be able to hit device manager and see all devices installed with no issues. I like the changes and options for everything I seen. Very impressed. Very easy to customize and make your own. Firewall options are nice, the backup/restore options are something that shoulda been done ages ago - glad to see all the options actually work well. ( a memtest is also a nice add on )

So I am going to end up jumping over Vista ( breaking wind as I get over top) and hitting up 7 in the near future. Also interested in what dx11 will bring this fall. About friggin time for another ( possibly better ) OS.
