I use a standard cell phone (with text messaging) all the time. I don't live in the city, so there aren't a lot of pay phones around...and I'm not always at home. I need to be able to call and order parts or if my car breaks down I might need some help, and there are very few phone booths on our local highways.
I pick up parts from all over HRM, so if I called from home to say I was going to be there in 1/2 an hour, but something comes up, I'd like to be able to call them and say "hey, gonna be a little longer" and that type of thing.
And since I need to communicate things to other people whom I know are not going to have their cell phone on them, but will check once or twice through the day, I send them text messages. Usually its not so important that I need to talk to them directly right now, but its something I'd like them to look into before the end of the day.
While I agree that the rtards walking around with bluetooth headsets are completely asinine, its kinda helpful to use a headset while in your car rather than reaching for a phone while driving. (And yes, the calls are often THAT important).
All that said, you'd have to be one hard up l4mZ0r to wait in line 3 days for a cell phone.
No Iphone for me.
