so i just finished building my new comp and i go to install xp onto it and the dvd drive wont read the cd so i take it out and realize that the f@&*ing cd is cracked (must have happened in moving to my new apt). so im wandering if there is anyway i can transfer the data from my laptops hd to my new hd. the hd is a hatachi 500gb sata and i have no idea what the laptop has but i assume thats its ide. if anyone could help it would be great. |

Wholy punctuation. Translating. Stand By. So I just finished building my new computer. I go to install Windows XP on it and the DVD drive wont read the CD. I take it out and realize that the CD is cracked. So i'm wondering if there is any way I can transfer the data from my laptops HD to my new HD. The HD is a Hitachi 500GB SATA. I have no idea what the laptop has but I assume that it's IDE. If anyone could help it would be great. Thanks |

Also I do carry a board that will hook up both and do a direct transfer. Like said just refer to the msn. -B |

haha sorry for the swearing and the really bad spelling, i'm not the best speller in the first place and when i get mad its even worse. |

Just download a copy of the CD, and use your CD key. As far as file transfer, just set up a shared folder and send everything over network. |
