The only way he'll be buyin one is if it's better than a QX9770 cause that's what he's getting. I have no idea if it is or isn't nor do I care. lol I'll be happy with a Q9550 to play with. |

may i ask you what about the white paper gives you the idea that i7 will be slower then our aging core 2 technology? from what i took away from our briefing was all positive, 3 channel memory controller, on die memory controller(about time), single substrate which means the quads are no longer sandwiched dual cores tied to each other by the fsb, 8 way design at first 16 way in 2009 with the 32nm shrink, this is just scratching the surface. pricing will be typical of new cpu's, expect to see the 920 for under 300us while the extreme will of course cost you for a premium for the unlocked multi. and that's just the cpu the x58 chipset is also going to be a huge step forward for Intel. the biggest mistake i see doubters of i7 is thinking that mhz mean anything, and anyone whos been around for a respectable amount of time remembers amd shattered that myth with the domination of the athlon 64 for so many years till 2006 and the resurgence of Intel with the core 2 micro architecture. what i am saying is i7 will do the same calculations as a current quad at a significantly lower clock speed. so say you can only overclock to 4ghz well that 4ghz will work faster then a current quad working at 5ghz. this all theory mind you. its all about the engineering and intel has that in spades with i7. the nda will be lifted soon and the numbers will speak for themselves. |

and if you still don't believe me heres a link to some early synthetics, i don't like synthetic benches but its what we have for the time being http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTU3NiwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA== |

interesting but when the i7 Dominates 3dmark then maybe ill get one altho i wonderhow the i7 hold up in comparison to the skulltrail? qx9775's as that it the worlds fastest processor and there would be 2 of them in the mobo that there would be on par from what i have seen but you can over clock them to 6ghz on LN2 Team Skulltrail was talking about crushing the vantage record in the next little while but i need to see these numbers and like i said i am going to do my benchmarks via Dry ice and acetone so i dont think anyone around well be able to compare but i can be worng i am hpoing to be in the top 30 or even top 20 so we will see how things go i may need help well because well i am going to be running onto something different dry ice and i sure as hell dont want to fuck my whole system as its alot of money into it |

lmao the benchmarks are so bad on that @3.3ghz 15680 3dmark 06 @1900 res my stock system gets 19k @1900 res on 3dmark06 with 1 card and a q9550 stock that kills it lmao what a total rip this chip is going to be no good for over clocking fuck what a shame lol good luck boys maybe if your doing lots of multimedia it will be a good choice lmao |

there you have it folks, clarke's vast knowledge once again out weighing everyone in the industry. care to link any review that shows a stock 9550 beating ANY of the i7 chips? i would like to see it, because you can only compare scores within a review against each other becuase the systems were configured by the same reviewer, comparing it to other reviews and your own scores can cause a severe bias, pop that chip into your system you may get better....scratch that you would get better scores if that's what your getting stock with an old core 2 quad. if you don't run i7 good luck in keeping up with you benchmark quest, not that it even matters to me, i'm not a bencher. i personally can't wait to get my hands on i7, gonna make life much easier and work much quicker. |

im personally happy with my e8400 and q8200. and ill stick with them for awhile. cause do i really need anything more pwerful than those for what i do. besides a personal benchmark record |

exactly and that's 100% fair to say, i won't be changing over the q6600 in my gaming system either becuase its perfectly good for a gaming cpu, my workstation however will be getting the i7 treatment because it will save me money and time(8 way processing *drool*). i can't think of anything more boring then watching loops of some poorly rendered demo and basing my entire system on it. |

I don't ever get the best i'm always a step or 2 behind but long as I have a good fast working system i'm happy! Hell I'm not even up to 790i with DDR3 ram yet & prolly won't be for awhile. lol |
