I watched some of the other channels yesterday and if anything it has the opposite effect on me. I'm like "Man, it would be terrible to pay all that money and still have nothing good to watch." I did watch a good show last night about Symbolism in American History on Discovery Civilizations but other than that there seems to be better stuff on the basic cable channels.

With that said I'll still be checking to see what's on the other channels if I am watching. :)

Yay, I can watch NGC, but the HD channel, nope heh. It's rediculous what 65$ can get ya on Starchoice (now Shaw Direct) compared to cable.

Well - for a long time I thought that digi cable was an absolute waste.

Music channels that I dont ever turn on, this preview of things thats coming on ( why not use channel 8) and picture quality wasn't any better - and they wanted to charge you more for things you dont want need or use plus having the box doing all these needless things while providing the "awesome" digital experience - yeah right.

Well we called eastlink cause we are moving. No charge d/c and r/c, free digicable , free extra 40+ channels for two mo. ( think i gotta remember to call to tellem i dont want it) PLUS getting all this - our bill will be 20 less a month than what it is now without digicable.

Nice. we took it. It will remain this way for a full year. ( the lady knocked off over 20 bucks/mo overall than what we are paying even with all the extras.

I didn't notice the preview was on till bedtime, and it takes about half an hour to auto-re-program my TV so I haven't gotten to check them out yet.

I'm doing really well on our EL price.

High Speed / Digital Cable + TMN Package (Movie network) / Local Phone + 5cent/min long distance
$101.95 Taxes in.

I like the National Geographic Channel as well but that's too bad about not getting the HD versions with this. :(

As for satellite, I've tried it before at friend's places and inn's I've stayed at and always have the worst experience with it. Slow, lots of channels but so many repeating ones that it takes forever to get through the guide, cuts out during bad weather (basically when you want to be watching tv the most).

Is this part of the "introductory price offer" or have you been getting this for a while now?

Intro offer is 99/month + taxes, dig box, no add ons.

101.95 is everything taxes in, etc, boxes, add ons, the works. This is about a standard price for me. Basically I told them, if they don't beat aliants price (they asked me what it was) that I would be switching to them. And thats how I got my price.

Calling them now for that. I'm paying 140.00 a month and trying the customer retention tactics.

I was asking the lady what the catch was cause this wasnt sounding right to me LOL

she laughed, no catch - just lowered the bill noticeably. Call Top, do it up!
