Post subject: | Rogers buys all the broadcast NHL rights. |
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=437549 Basically in a nutshell: Rogers bought all the rights to show any/all NHL games during the regular season, playoffs, and finals. They have 3 "national" nights: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. HNIC will be on CBC for 4 more years, but all content will be provided/vetoed by Rogers. Ron & Don are a headache and they might as well (and are old enough to) retire anyways. The Center Ice package is also now owned by Rogers. No more blackouts. Yippee! Doing basic mathies, for the 5.2 billion deal, each NHL team would get 14 million per year from this deal. Don't forget this is on top of whatever NBC is paying. |
