It's a well known fact that when you give computer geeks a price limit they pick out the best parts for just barely under that budget. I'm actually surprised no one has said something on the lines of "If you just spend a little bit more you can get _______" yet but time will tell.

It's also funny how a computer budget of say $800-$1000 basically means $995-$1200 around here. ;)

It's Obvious im biased to e8400's though for my desc.
Things I would not bother is the sound card. Onboard is good enough.

Like rone said you dont need anything that nuts.. Especially the quad. If your gaming you will benifit 0% from a quad. I'd stick with Windows XP2 but thats just me and just use 3 gb ram (limit with xp 32bit right? Also considering you have a OS at home so you can save more there as well.

I think it's easier of course for others to spend some money for you. But do what you will with it. I could think of better things to do by saving a few bucks.

I'd say do more research. Because I think 2k for a computer for your use may be a waste. But like said it's your money do with it as you will.

The 610 should be ample with no OC'ing, but bigger is most often better and it will mean you may not need to replace it with a future upgrade.

IMO 8400's are nothing special, even some old Q6600's can hit 4.0Ghz on air (not mine though )

Im so gonna strangle you BenD.. lawl..

I say C2D you say Quad. .. Urgh. Potato, po-ta-toe...

Meh im wasting my time typing on this one because everyone will have a opinion, a preference, and something to say.

Also to mention in all seriousness... If you have a pet ie: cat, dog. The Antec 900 case will kill a fucking vacuum in sucking back fur. You'll be cleaning the front of it in no time.

With thise parts go with the Mozart TX case then. Me, Tony, and Steve-O have that shiznit
