Ok I been out of the pc building world for awhile now so I'm not on the up and up anymore. I have a Asus P5K which has 4 ram slots and right now I'm using 2 of them that have 1G sticks of ram in 2 slots .. I want to upgrade to 4gig total so can I just add 2 1Gig sticks of OCZ value to whats already there? Or would there be perfomance issues? Right now i'm only running XP so I know it will only work with 3 gig but someday I will get Vista to take advantage of the whole 4.

shouldn't be any problems, *might* not work in dual channel mode, but it *should*

just have the 2 rams in their right channels and you shouldn't have an issue.

ie: (slot 1 OLD RAM) (slot 2 NEW RAM) (slot 3 OLD RAM) (slot 4 NEW RAM)

also with the price of ddr2 ram, why not sell those two sticks and go with a 4gb kit, they can be had for easily less than 100 bucks...i.e.OCZ XTC FATAL1TY OCZ2F8004GK 4GB DDR2 2X2GB DDR2-6400 800MHz CL 5-4-4-18 EPP Kit 2.1v $75 at mysterybyte...after you figure out buying the new ram and the chance it wont work, you might as well sell yours buy a 4g kit and be done with it...

Quite simply I don't have the extra cash or a buyer for the ram i do have .. I thought about doing that but I just don't have the money. I have 45 bucks that I got for xmas from a friend .. just enough for the 2gb of ram
