This just plain sucks, I don't have enough vertical in IE8 (probably due to the fact it doesn't let you place some of the tool bar items together anymore)

funny you mention that, I am strongly considering a htpc build for thr 42' samsung 1080p I have. Why should I spend money several times on movies when I can stream them from the internet and from my pc wireless or xfer them wireless for viewing.

You can easily use HDMI , given you have a HDMI out on your vid card. Otherwise s-video ( which I wouldn't bother using as it does suck) VGA or HDMI depending on the TV. You can kinda mix and match if you have the appropriate adapter. ie: dvi -hdmi adapter etc.

Apparently, with some going so far as to say how awesome things look at 1360x768  . VGA or HDMI at the res. is as about as good as S-Video at 1024x768 on an old CRT TV.

With some of the advertising on some websites, you can read like 2 lines of an article before you have to scroll down ffs.

if you have a 1080 tv then its not as bad, im running a 42" 1080p rca as my second at 1920x1080, which isnt to far off from the 1920x1200 on my 27" , although the computer lcd is far superior to the tv lcd

that's about all i'd use a 720p TV for as well.
but then why buy a 720p TV now anyway since 1080p TVs are getting relatively cheap for a decent size.

My laptop is 1280x800 and my 32" Sharp Aquos is 1366x768. Both are fine for every day use and watching movies.

For my programming and graphic work, I can see how 720p is not enough. Hell, I'm not happy with my 22" LG @ 1680x1050. Need some Dell UltraSharp 24" @ 1900x1200 :)

HDMI is definitely better than VGA. Even though the manual said I'd still be limited to that crap res., I can set it to 1920x1080...i which loooks like crap. Anyway, overscan is gone, text is sharper, the 2400Pro PCI doesn't have audio, but HDMI 1 on my TV has audio in.

Today has been a good day.

(yes I am using one of those crappy key keyboards I hate so much)
