http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/solid-state-drives/pci-express/revodrive/ocz-revodrive-x2-pci-express-ssd-.html Attachment: RevoDriveX2.jpg [ 39.56 KiB | Viewed 13314 times ] The RevoDrive X2 PCI-Express SSD is an innovative storage solution that focuses on increased performance and capacity to serve high-performance computing consumers, upgrading the original by delivering unprecendented speeds and incredible capacities for enthusiasts and prosumers to make the most of their desktops and workstations. The RevoDrive family gets its edge by eliminating the SATA II (3Gbps) bottleneck and leveraging a PCIe x4 interface to exploit the full potential of current flash technology, delivering superior speeds over 730MB/s sequential speeds and random small file writes up to 120,000 IOPS, nearly triple the throughput of other high-end SATA based solutions. Like the original RevoDrive, the X2 uses an onboard RAID 0 design, but it also employs four SandForce-1200 controllers versus two in the original to maximize data access and bandwidth. Unlike competing PCIe solutions the RevoDrive X2 is bootable, ensuring the satisfaction of quicker start-ups, load times, and computing, all while promoting cooler, quieter, and more energy efficient conditions compared to traditional mechanical hard drives. Available in 100GB to 960GB capacities, the OCZ RevoDrive X2 provides ample room for data warehousing, applications, multimedia files, and operating systems. The RevoDrive X2 is backed by a 3-year warranty and tech support for the ultimate peace of mind for your high-performance hardware investment. Looks like 800$ for the 240GB model with 700MB/s+ read and write. Compare that to my 1300$ OCZ first gen setup that tops out at 500MB/s, and it's a "deal". |

http://www.anandtech.com/show/3997/ocz-revodrive-x2-review and a review! Gotten from somewhere (version 1 price for same size in brackets): CDN Dollhairs + taxes + shipping. 100GB 459$++ (339$++) 240GB 689$++ (599$++) 480GB 1459$++ (1249$++) Blows my mind! Looks like my 800$ prediction was pretty bang on. Max Shock Resistance 1500G (is that even possible heh) Power Consumption (Active) 8.3W Power Consumption (Idle) 4.3W Sequential Access - Read up to 740MB/s Sequential Access - Write up to 720MB/s MTBF 2,000,000 hours I know what I'm going to get once my current SSD raid bites the dust! |

SSD's in a raid by their very nature cannot offer TRIM. |

The new OCZ IBIS drives have "Garbage Collector" thus no need for trim. |
