Just updating at the top. CPU: Intel i5 2500k @ 5.1 Ghz Motherboard: Asus Sabretooth P67 Memory: Kingston 4GB 1333mhz DDR3 Video: Sapphire 5770 @ 900/1300 HDD: Seagate Barracuda Sata 3 500GB Case: Coolermaster Basic Case... Cooling: CM Hyper 212 with some minor sandage Thermal Paste: AS5 /w Credit Card Application I did this with the hear listed above and one rear case fan. More cooling is needed for the initial spike when CPU is maxxed out. I had to back down from 5.2 due to this. CPU does drag to 88C on prolonged stress tests but levels out to about 84-85 once heat dissipation can take place after the initial spike. Makes me wish I still had my FreeZone. Notes: Need a few more case fans. Listed is a windows Experience Index so far since I realized I did have Paint application. ![]() |

Im suprised next day I wasn't cleaning vomit off my open case... Besides that. The Vdroop in these chips is sickening. Example 1.5vcore under load = 1.420 (PURE EXAMPLE) But it's pretty extreme. I'm gonna have to take some sober time and adjust the LLC. Then I can probably get a higher clock with stability. I did find a majority of chips hit a wall at 47-48X. So I feel lucky in that aspect. Only downfall it's a power hog. I know these 32mn chips dont like the high voltages but hey... No risk no reward. Or maybe ill be rewarded with the scent of burnt silicon.. Bad note on the P67 boards. They dont like waking up from prolonged sleep mode. Apparantly this is a bios issue and they are "working on it". |
