it depends alot on your system but any core 2 cpu will give you as good or better performance. The e6750 is actually clocked at 2.66ghz not 3.0, the e6850 is 3.0ghz. I find that the core 2 cpu's provide 5 fps more clock for clock then the amd cpu. The big performance differences come in media emcoding and such. I found that x2 cpu's bottlenecked fast GPU's alot, switching to a core 2 provided me an extra 4000 points in 3dmark05. |

I would get the Intel C2D E8400 @ 3ghz. It's faster and replacing the e6850 and mysterybyte has them for $238. Also most e8400's are stable at or over 4ghz on air, along with low temps and power consumption. |

Damn near guaranteed that the week after I pick one up, the price will drop by at least 30%!!! I doubt it. I paid $289 for my Q6600 in August, MB has them for $296 now.. |

Price will go up or they will be real hard to get soon. LOl Maybe both cause everyone and their grandmother is buying them I want to buy the P5N-D mobo to go with the E8400 but can't find any reviews! |

the p5n-d is solid but don't expect great overclocking with the 750i chipset. even the 780i is touch and go as with most nvidia based board. |

Yeah i think I changed my mind about that board. i would like a board with PCIe 2.0, and 2 pci-e x16 both in 16 x mode. I was thinking about the ASUS P5E iX38/ICH9R, but might save a few dollars and get the P5K-E WIFI. I still got a bit over a week to choose lol. any input is appreciated! |

Thanks to you all for your Input! I have a ASUS Crosshair and a 6400+ right now but I just have to try the Wolfdale E8400 and I'm looking at the New i780 Mobo for my Intel Machine! I can't say my AMD isn't doing a Good Job with my 7950 GX2 especially in Crysis! I'm getting 40-82 FPS at Medium setting's but I just am Curious about the New 45nm Wolfdale! I'm gonna try it out along with the 8800 GT just for Kicks!! Thanks Again Guys!! I Love this Forum, everybody's Cool on here!! |
