Ok so here's the deal .. looking to upgrade my system however I only have $1000 or little over to spend and here's what I need. I'm keeping my ATA 250gb hard drive for now.

Motherboard
CPU
Power Supply
Ram (Nothing under 2gb & cheap ram is fine cuz I'm not OC'ing)
Video Card (Wanna play some of the new games out)

Any suggestions gang? Thx

Cheap mobo (Asus P5K)? since you're not OCing
4gb DDR2
8800GTS
Not sure about PSU's, I haven't looked at them in a while.

Should come to about $1000

8800GT should be out soon, rumours are it outperforms the GTS and is about the same price.

12838 Kingston 1GB / 667MHZ / PC5300 / DDR-2 / MFG Lifetime (MB 1st yr Hot Swap) $37.00 x2 $74.00

Ok so I've decided to upgrade my system and purchase a new high def camcorder. So my upgrade is going to have to be done alittle cheaper than I originally planned.

I need a psu, cpu , mb, ram .. video card. One thing i know for sure is I want a 8800GT .. everything else is up in the air right now. Gotta keep it below 1000 with taxes for sure .. ok guys what's your suggestions? Thx in advance for the help.

Almost the same setup as mine and i have no regrets with my upgrade, runs everything i throw at it including crysis very well,if you were going to oc you could have saved some cash by going with the 6550 which oc's easy to 3 and over,i love my 8800gt but the default fan speed is set to low so you should download ntune and up the fan speed which will default to 29% everytime you turn on your pc,i have mine set to 60% all the time,i almost bought the same mb too but seeing the price for the 8800gt's are so good that i wanted the option of going sli just in case but im 95% sure i'll never do it.I run all stock speeds too but may oc later(no reason now as it runs all games great) :D

There was only 20 bucks dif between the 6550 and the 6750. Plus I'm not really into the overclocking thing anymore. Thx for the reply Grizz I think this is the setup I'm going with .. might put the order in tomorrow. :D
