Nope for the new build

Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
AMD Phenom II X4 965
CORSAIR XMS3 4GB DDR3 1600
Sapphire 5870 (to later be another in xfire)
2 x Seatgate 500gig Momentous XT's

All in the 922 HAF

All I'm wondering is the length of the cables on the power supplies and the size of teh new computer case/location of the power supply.

Doesn't matter how good oen is over the other, if one has cables that are too short, it's useless.

Right never thought about the lengths, thanks for mentioning that. Going to look into that.

Both great psu's.the antec blue is semi modular and i used almost every cable on the blue that was direct wired without having to plug any extra in,with the corsair i had ton's of left over cables to try and hide, they both have extra long wires and the corsair does a better job with the sleeving.my corsair quit after about 2 weeks(just bad luck)my antec is running my system which is almost the same as yours like a champ.

All I know is that there are long cables, and that there are LONG CABLES. The only PSU's deisgned properly with the 800D in mind are the high-end Corsair PSU's. At least they got a freaking clue what to make.

As much as I dont feel like agreeing..

Steve is right I would go Corsair. They do have good experience on making quality PSU's.

Nice setup you got there Grizz - what are the temps like on your 965 with the V8? also did you OC at all?

With the V8 and a slight oc of 3.6 i get temps of 27 to 32

that's friggin sweet. You must have a cool ambient too. awesome!

I clocked mine back to 3.6 as well. everything auto and runs like a top!

That's with the V8 fan setting's on manual and turned up to about 1/2 which is still very very quiet. It ran hotter when it was on auto. Also i play almost every pc game that comes out and there was no need to OC from default 3.4 to run anything better so i will probably revert back to stock until a game comes out that will stress it. :)

Grizz, run a benchmark with everything stock.

Then up the multi one full step to get 3.6Ghz - a mere 200Mhz OC /core, leave vcore auto ( there will be no increase) then take the two sliders in CCC and max them out and set the manual fan control to 35% and hit apply. Now rerun a bench and compare the numbers - also look at your temps they should be awesome.

Hmm funny everything I've read the Antec is the better psu to have provided the wires are the correct length for the given situation. Oh & it's not gaudy orange striped ha.

Antec has 4 rails vs Corsairs 1 rail, better voltage regulation, better ripple suppression, better efficiency, & is partially modular.

Wires not long enough add an extender?
