Yup I disconnected everything and reseated it all. Stripped it down to 1 stick of ram, vid card, no hdd, no optical, no usb not even a kb. Still same deal. Dr. B, I got very limited testing parts here, if you were still in NG and wanted to take a peak I could compensate you. This needs to get fixed ASAP before I'm in some serious trouble at work. Got deadlines closing in and this is not a good time for this to happen...

Well, I'm almost positive its the motherboard at this point. I tried different vid cards, no go, I tried a different psu, no go, tried just one stick of ram, no go.

I haven't tried reseating the cpu but I just did that last night with a brand new AS5 and a clean cooler, I don't think there's an issue with my cpu, at least I hope not.

Gonna have to break the bank and grab a new mb to ensure I have a workstation.

790GX this time...

A decent 790GX board that has great reviews. Stick in any ATI card and the onboard HD3300 will auto crossfire to step things up a knotch - which in itself as far as onboard goes surpassed alot of expectations.

Also a good for oc'ing.

Sorry to hear about the board issues. Hope the next one works out well for you.

Yup, that's the one I'm looking at. I just hope to god it actually is the mb and not the cpu. If not I'll have an M4A78 Plus for sale haha. Denty's gonna get me fixed up tomorrow, will have to have it shipped though so won't be here til mid next week :(

Looks like there's nothing I can do, I for sure don't have an AMD CPU or mobo kicking around.

Yeah I kinda thought that later on Dr B. I won't even be able to get a new motherboard for at least a week. Gonna kill me bro!

Well, I sent my board back to MB for a checkup, turns out that the PCIE slot was fubared. Awaiting my replacement now, can't wait to be back up and running again.

Why oh why did I not think to try the 2nd PCIE slot? Oh well.

Now I'm wondering if the dead PCIE slot could have damaged my 4870. We'll find out soon enough.

A lot of times you can't run a card in the second slot without a card in the first slot.
