All of the 5800's were supposed to come with a Steam voucher, but according to Sapphire you may get one, you may not.

They were cheaper at release than they are currently? That's crazy unheard of lol.

I hope I'm satisfied with it, I was supposed to spent $250 on a new CPU this year now I'm up $800 and counting... Needless to say it better be well worth it..

Darn thats insane! Never ever are release prices lower than post release.

I could have gotten a 5870 today instead, but the price is $100 more for about 13-15% performance increase over the 5850. Not worth it in my opinion.

I read this awesome chart one time that detailed when you should get an upgrade, and it said when upgrading from another card, you should not bother upgrading without a 35-50% performance increase.

Therefore no more than $75 for a 15% increase.

Weird reasoning I know...

Actually hasn't this been happening a lot lately with AMD video cards? I thought the 4770's were cheaper when they came out then a few months later when everyone wanted them for CrossFire.

Yep, they went up in price due to demand. AMD actually bumped up the MSRP after the release of the 58's, probably because of the lack of competition from those other guys who didn't even lower their prices on their old stuff.
