Well after re-doin an PC for use as an HTPC, I recently went into MB to get me a HD4350.

This M2A-VM hdmi has a pci add in card that goes in the PCI-E slot to give ya HD out.

so I pulled that, put in the 4350 - no video.

plugged in onboard - its running. Double checked bios settings, yep, set to PCI-E as primary.

reset settings then to VGA, f10 out to save, reboot, went back in, set it to pci-e, F10 to save exit reboot , nadda. No pci-e worky. It wants to use onboard only no matter what I set in the bios.

Doesnt see the new card when it gets to windows either which is strange. Still investigating and testing.

Set the HDMI Support in the BIOS to off (Advanced tab)

And if you use dual monitors, you should always keep only one connected after installing a new card, as this will produce similar annoyances.

thanks guys, by the time I checked back here I had realized why it wasnt working and had disabled hdmi.

Its running downstairs now testing, HD movies look pretty damn good. Regular avi's look as you would expect. The pc wouldnt play 1080p until I put the HD4350 in. Now its awesome.

The Airlink wireless card isnt compatable with windows 7. Gotta find something that is and getter online.

I gotta feelin that rig may double as a torrent pc from time to time.

When I get things situated, I will post some photos of the simple setup.

Is that the Airlink AWLH4130 / PCI / 108Mbps / 802.11g / Wireless Card 2000/XP ($22.00) or the Airlink AWLH6075 150N Wireless N PCI Adapter B/G/N (XP/VISTA/64bit)($28.00), because I almost stopped in to buy the $28 one this weekend and I'm running Windows 7 as well. :?

Its the Airlink 4130. One thing I haven't tried yet is to install the drivers in compatibility mode for XP. I will let ya know how it goes.

The card works flawless under xp, but will not properly install in 7. I will try a few things and if i can get it working, I will give ya the steps to get it to work if I can get a decent workaround going.

I even tried a belkin usb wireless adapter that has windows 7 released drivers. That wont work either lol I even tried that in compatibility mode for xp and vista with elevated permissions. No go.

Great. Maybe I won't be moving my modem/router to the livingroom anytime soon then. ;)
