Post subject:  new problems with new computer

i picked up a used computer the other day. and i cant get a keyboard to work on it. i tried ps2 and usb and nothing. i cant get the comptuer too boot into windows. and i cant hit DEL to get into the bios. anyone have any idea

I don't think a system will boot into Windows without a working keyboard so that might be the root of all your problems. Replace it with one you know works and see what you get.

i tried 5 different key boards usb and ps2. i reset the cmos and it still wont reconize a keyboard

I'd guess something is pooched about the system then.

Does it post at all? (Do you see the boot screen but can't get into bios?).

What's the motherboard make/model? Not all boards use "Del" as the "enter BIOS" keyboard button.

yup i see the msi screen then the boot screen and it says cad checksum. (thats because i reset the cmos) and still it says del to enter bios and still i cant get anything.
its a msi neo2 somehting

Maybe you could try the front usb ports on the case? or switch cases and re-configure the headers for the usb ports. Are there any bulged capacitors? if that doesnt work check and see if you didnt accidentally change the jumper settings for the cmos battery or just swap out the cmos battery all together.
