I am also surprised with the results from Nvidia's new card. Glad that they got it right. Now let the GPU war's begin. Hopefully it will be a win for us consumers in price wars!!! :D

I too was also surpised, that NV actually delivered on the random claims on the internets. I think only 2GB of VRAM hurts at surround 5760x1200ish resolutions, though.

A higher performing card at 50$ less than the competition is exactly what the rest of us were waiting for!

Hey Steve. Ya, now I am going to have to wait for NVIDIA's 670 and 660 to be released before I upgrade. See how they compete against the HD 7850 and HD 7870. I am just glad they they are in direct compitition now. Both companies are now on an even keel. They have fast, power efficent products. This should benifit us ppl that want to upgrade our GPU's. Maybe drive the prices down!!!! :D

It's nowhere near an even keel, AMD needs to reduce their price (of their entire line?) by 100$, otherwise no one is going to buy anything from team red.

That is true. I wonder if this would trickle down to the 7800 series cards. I ma sure AMD will wait and see how the the 660 and 670 perform before making a price cut decision. I hope Nvidia releases the 660 and 670 lines sooner then later at this point!!!!

Apparently by the end of teh 1st week in May, we'll have 4GB 680's and the long-anticipated 690 (duallie card). Hopefully the 7990 will be forthcoming soonest!

I've owned cars that cost less than that.

Well the 690 rocks the cazbah all right! Let's hope that the 7990 is as professional as that, at a price point 200$ less.

Some sites are saying that there are going to be less than 1000 690's made. They alos said that there have been less than 10,000 680's shipped. By the "out of stock" i see at all the regular places, I dont doubt those numbers.

I pulled the trigger on a GTX 670 today. I set out to get the Gigabyte windforce model, but for some reason that order never went through. When I realized the order didn't go through it was too late, they were sold out.
I had to spend an extra $50 for the Galaxy OC version. I should have waited a bit longer, because the Gigabyte came back in stock, but by then it was too late to cancel the Galaxy 670 order. lol

Looks like the 660ti mid-August. Going on previous cards it should give the 7850 or 7870 a good run for it's money.

Unfortunately, it's going to be costed over 300$, probably closer to 350$. This has to be under 300$ to be a real winner, otherwise this isn't a mid-range card at all...

And the 660Ti is out and it's another winner from the green team. Pretty much embarrasing everything at the price point while giving a sound thrashing to the previous 460Ti and 560Ti offerings from team green. 3GB version showing up the 670s as well at 60$ cheaper.

Hopefully price cuts all around. All we need is the 7990 to rear it's ugly head at the end of August and this generation is will be complete.

yeah an OC'd 660ti may be close to a stock reference 670, but you can OC the 670 too. So it doesn't really show up a 670 at all. Especially mine at 1300mhz.
Nice cards but the 600's were already close to the limit in memory bandwith. The 660 is even more cutdown.
