Can you overclock it? Even if i touch mine 1% above spec I get lots of flashing garble. Might be something to do with dual monitor though I don't know.

If your using the CCC that might be the problem, in my experience, it doesn't work very well with brand new card releases.

OK, try to overdrive with CCC and tell me if you have any glitches with yer 5850.

Did +5 on the core, Heaven BM, no problem. (Vista X64, 9.10 cats)

Stock results are in.

X6626 586pts higher than CF 4770's
P12217 145pts lower than CF 4770's

16638 3DM06 Default 7pt lower than CF 4770's

I negelected to do a 1920x1200 run on the 4770's with AA maxed, so I'll have to do a run on the 5850 tonight at that res.

I guess the graphical glitching is due to multi-monitor setup whilst overclocking.

Yeah if I use MSI afterburner and set the core clock to anything above 850MHz I get the glitches

Lick it and see if it tastes like lemon.

The 5850 is only clocked at 725/1000 so there's plenty of headroom till you hit the 5870's clocks.

It's logic Jim, but not as we know it. For now it just doesn't work optimally. I'll cry once I get a 3rd monitor and do some eyefinity and need the extra juice and it won't give it to me, come Catalyst 10.1 or 10.2.

Sapphire cards were what, $304 yesterday, $337 today. The Asus card I got is up to $359!
