Ok i have a sapphire 3870 512mb ddr3 single slot that get too hot, has anyone use one of these gpu heatsinks on a 3870? http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=147 wondering if that could solve my problem. and last but not least anyone think that sapphire would replace mine with a dual slot so the air exhausts out the back?

what kinda temps are you getting, i never heard of that fan problem with the 3870's i know my 4850 had that, but it still wouldnt restart....

and yeah i have heard alot of good things about that accelero you can get a fan setup with 2 80mm i think that fits over top of that huge heatsink...

The dual slot coolers aren't realy any better than the single slot ones. I found that a fan speed of about 60% kept the card cool enough under load (FAHGPU2), but that would depend on the airflow in your case.

If your set on aftermarket cooling, I'd recommend the Zalman VF900.

63c at idle and never get to see it at load cause the comp restarts lol. with rivatuner at 80% fan speed it's temp is 38c idle and 63c load.
