I installed my new 4870 today, booted up my pc and the fans went nuts like full throttle for a few seconds then went away. It's not outputting to any monitor i hook it up to. Everything goes straight to no signal.

Maybe the 4870's don't work with a dvi-vga adapter, but i hooked it up via hdmi with the same result.

3 red lights come on briefly on the pcb before turning off and the fans spin up really fast. What could be the issue?

Reset my cmos maybe? I don't even see a cmos battery or jumpers on this board...

1.Plug in the power connectors for the card.
2. Reseat card
3. Check PSU maybe it does suck and you are not getting enough power.

3 LEDs coming on is normal as a post.

Check this link for Diagnostics on the LEDs.

Also Another one for 4870x2 which this one has derived from.

It was probably the PCI-E clock at fault, Ati cards really don't seem to like that being OC'd in the slightest.
