Ok i have a sapphire 3870 512mb ddr3 single slot that get too hot, has anyone use one of these gpu heatsinks on a 3870? http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=147 wondering if that could solve my problem. and last but not least anyone think that sapphire would replace mine with a dual slot so the air exhausts out the back? |

what kinda temps are you getting, i never heard of that fan problem with the 3870's i know my 4850 had that, but it still wouldnt restart.... and yeah i have heard alot of good things about that accelero you can get a fan setup with 2 80mm i think that fits over top of that huge heatsink... |

The dual slot coolers aren't realy any better than the single slot ones. I found that a fan speed of about 60% kept the card cool enough under load (FAHGPU2), but that would depend on the airflow in your case. If your set on aftermarket cooling, I'd recommend the Zalman VF900. |
