Well this is promising. Too bad it will be about a year too late for my upgrade.

And I highly doubt anyone will be able to replicate these results with a retail version of them.

Not a good set of benchmarks or anything but maybe it means they'll at least be able to hold their own against Intel's current line.

If it's cheaper and uses the same amount of power, or less, I wouldn't care how many cores it takes but we'll see soon I guess.

Not very inspiring at all. I can't see them staying priced at where they are for long either.

--MB listed prices--
17026 *AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz X4 8MB 95W - AM3+ 136.00
17028 *AMD FX-8120 3.1GHz X8 16MB 125W - AM3+ 246.00
17029 *AMD FX-8150 3.6GHz X8 16MB 125W - AM3+ 296.00

Probably backordered till Xmas heh.

Well at least I don't need to upgrade my mobo if I take the plunge. Sailing for 6 months come January, I won't be buying anything soon :P

Although, I don't even know what the heck I'd be doing with 8 cores anyways, unless games were properly coded for that level of parallelism...
