Hey guys,

Well, My specs of my current system is listed in my signiture. I am thinking on upgrading in a couple of months or so. Would it be worth getting a i-7 930, new mobo and ram. And would my current psu be sufficient for the hardware upgrade. Or should I wait a bit for more offerings from AMD's bulldozer. Not sure what Intel is going to come out with. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am sure that Steve-O will have some kind of AMD input lol.

Thanks gang,

Ernie

Wait till the new mobo series comes out from Intel, and then wait a little bit for them to fix it, and then wait a little more for the prices to fall to something sensible.

Replace Intel with AMD.

Hey Steve,

Should I get the 1090 T or wait a bit more for Bulldozer? I am at a cross roads right now on what to do. My rig is obvisouly for gaming. I just don't want a small upgrade. I want to have a nice performance gain then my current CPU, MoBo combo.

If you want performance, AMD has nothing on Intel.
You get what you pay for.
What ever you decide, you should get an ssd drive to go with.

if you're just looking for something to hold you over you could try to find a Q9450 or higher either new or used somewhere.
probably end up being the best bang for buck assuming you can find one.

Ya, I think I will hold on th what I got for now. See what AMD's new Bulldozer will look like stacked up against Intel's Sandy Bridge. I know that the Sandy Bridge will not be a good over clocker though. I read that you will only be able to get 2-3% max o/c. So, intel is trying to block the over clockers.
