I have been doing a lot of reading and investigating. I believe that AMD's Bull dozer will be pushed back on release. And that Sandy Bridge from Intel is going to be a very good CPU over the current one. I have to say that I am impressed of what I have read about Itels new CPU and it should be availble Jan 2011. ![]() |

As long as you like paying more for a chip, and having a chipset that won't have a very long shelf life, there is nothing wrong with Intel. And there still won't be a native USB3.0 offering from intel, not that it's an issue either. |

I must say all those AMD solutions I had had a long shelf life, S754, S939, AM2. All 3 were obsolete a few months after I got them. I've been on LGA775 for over 4 years now. |

^^^^ I agree with you Dr_BenD_over. I have had my E8400 for 3 years now and It is still a good CPU. I am very pleased with Intel. And I have also heard that Sandy Bridge will support USB 3.0. I will probably get the i5 2400K. looks like a solid CPU. But will have to wait for the prices. I read Intel is going to price it aggressively. No word when AMD will release Bull dozer now. It's been delayed with no official release date. Looks like AMD is going to have delays like Nvidia did with Fermi. Too bad. It will hurt them if they can't deliver when intel rolls out SB. |

well I will be checking them all out in the first few months of the new year. I am in no rush to upgrade and what I run now is great for what I do. I am looking forward to seeing how each performs real world and how many organs you have to donate to get one. Personally I am more concerned with the prices of simple flash drives coming down out of the clouds. What all are charging for those are stupid high. I'd go that route before a new cpu and board if the prices were decent. |
