http://www.xigmatek.com/product/aircooling.php i like the H.D.T. One would think that doing that would cause issues due to the different thermal conductive properties of copper and aluminium. |

The HDTs are nice specially getting that true heatpipe connection for an extra few degrees is well worth it imo. I might be picking up a Tuniq Tower 120 though cause I'm getting it for a good price used & they are a fairly good cooler also. |

Those temps are expected of the stock cooler. The stock coolers are just hunks of... well you follow. I had the same @ 3.6 stocker. I just went out and picked up a Zalman 8700. I managed to get a good deal on it. It's by far not the greatest of CPU heatsink/fans out there. But meh. Anyhow what voltage are you running now @ 3.4, 3.6, or more. I know everyones cpu is different but im just curious. After all it took me a whooping 1.450v just to run 4.0 stable. |

Mine required similar VCore to run 4G+. Seems the newer steppings aren't quite the overclockers that the first ones were. |

no doubt rone. I mailed you off kijiji about your pump but that thing is massive! I been thinking about it on and off though I must admit ![]() But what are the 8400's good for on voltage anyways? like 1.5v? I just haven't looked it up yet... lol. |

Okay, i ran into a few problems with the stock cooler so i took ym oc back down to stock, on friday i got my xigmatek installed and its up and running with some nice AS5 on it, load temps on core dont go over 50 @ stock setting, gonna let the AS5 cure before i push it, i am a noob @ oc'ing Intel Core2 systems so it might take me a while to hit 4ghz.. but i am definatly going to do it. |

I don't believe it will take a while ![]() Give it a few days and you'll have it @ 4 Ghz ![]() And don't worry from my experiences the processors are super durable. I mean if I haven't cooked one yet it's tough to do so. Just don't over volt them. |
