Ern popped on msn last night while I was playing a little BC2 (crackberries are good for something ) We successfully added each other to our respective friends' list.

So, with that and the other failed attempts we surmised that you both have to be online at the main menu to add people - which is pretty sad. Should one not be able to run a search for a player and send a request at any time? - or so one would think, but thats not how they do things.

so for those of you playing and having issues adding friends' thats what ya gotta do.
