I mentioned it in anohter thread before but Warcraft has probably saved me money over the years. I didn't upgrade my computer (until now) and I didn't really play anything else.

If you want to talk about dumb and costly monthly expenses lets talk about cell phones.

Yes I'd have to agree that I didn't have to make the whole CPU/MOBO/RAM upgrade for a long damn time. But WaR online and AoC are pretty much going to be the games I play for the next year(s?) and an upgrade is in order.
