Yep, the more I dig into why people play BC2 are because their other games have lost their flavour. I will say though, that CoD4 is 95% of the time hack-free and has been that way for quite some time. There is just a HUGE 'elitist' community who pride in scraping average players and it kinda ruins the experience for everyone.
THEREFORE, I cannot preach the importance of joining a clan enough. Having a full squad of experienced and talented players not only makes team based FPS fun as hell, it also helps when dealing with said hackers.
For example, in MW2, we ONLY play objective based gametypes. Especially while playing as a team. That way we have a full squad of really good players to counter the hackers, and I must say, we have a pretty good track record VS. hackers. If you work together on a common objective, you can beat even the better hackers out there, since all they worry about is getting kills.
A couple weeks ago, our team got into a game with someone called 'gay' (i know i know). On the other team was a player named ~Zeus, who funny enough is one of the bigger known MW2 hackers out there, there have been hundreds of complaints on the steam forums about him. We decided to see what gametype Team Tactical would give us. Sure enough it was S&D, where a wallhacker wins every time because he knows EXACTLY where you're at and can shoot thru the walls to kill you. It's all down to two players: ~Zeus and gay. One of our members happened to be on ~Zeus' team and recorded the whole shebang of him twitching and shooting thru walls wondering why the hell he can't hit gay. Turns out gay already knew what he was dealing with. He had on a Riot Shield and was tucked into a corner of a room, taunting ~Zeus in text chat "Come on Zeus that's just pathetic you got hacks and STILL can't kill me...embarrassing!" he also had traps at each door consisting of a claymore with C4 in front of it (one man army trick). ~zeus however had sitrep and could see the clays and c4 in front of the wall. It was a standoff, and Zeus needed to actually play the objective and plant the bomb to win. Frustrated, he takes off and leaves gay, goes to plant the bomb, meanwhile gay switches classes to an RPG, fires it way up into the room, boom Zeus is dead. How embarrassing. It was really inspirational. One man standing up to a hacker and beating him with a clever and well thought out tactic. He really became my hero haha funny enough... But since then we've kinda made a pact to make each and every game hacker out there regret ever even downloading a hack. By not only using clever, proactive approaches like what we learned above, but also flaming him to the point of him leaving. ESPECIALLY when a hacker is on our team. We don't like that either, probably worse.
People need to stand up and just refuse to tolerate hacking in any form. Most people get pretty excited when a hacker is on their team, meaning they cant lose. If everyone were to just flame the guy or even leave him to play by himself then I really think we'd be making some progress.
I will say, it's great organizing scrims with other reputable clans and having heart stopping games which are fair and fun for everyone. Once again, the importance of having a clan to represent you...
We're the Che Guevera's of gaming!!
VIVA LA REVOLUCION!!!
Rant Over....
