I am guessing we both have to have the game loaded and be logged in.

I don't really play this at all (still sucks) but when I decided to give it another shot the other day, my friends list was all gone, and only some people could add me. It's just driving me nuts that people enjoy this game, I can't seem to understand why besides nice visuals. Gameplay is just too blocky and crammy. And WTF is with the bullet drop? I completely understand that a shot over a distance in real life takes a downward trajectory, hell I've been a hunter and have military experience so duh. I'm fine with bullet drop in a game to maintain realism, but when I gotta hit someone with 8-12 rounds then doesn't that just defeat the purpose of realism? I've seen me empty clips into people at long range just to have to reload to either finish them off or get rpg'd or run and gunned down or ran over by a tank or destroyed by a heli..... or.... well you get the point....

I'm so frustrated with FPS gaming at the moment.

COD4 has lost it's flavor, as almost every server I visit now has restrictions such as no bunny hopping, no set nades, must remain crouched, etc etc it takes all the fun and skill out of the game. They're making these rules to counteract what they didn't like in MW2 so all those who did do those things in CoD4 before, did them in MW2 but now want to return to CoD4, they are banned and kicked from every server.

Then there's MW2. Which finally I can say I really do enjoy playing. I just learned to counter the gay overpowered weapons with finesse and positioning, plus i play with a full team so that's great. Too bad that VAC is so shite that ANYONE can download a VAC disabler, then download free public hacks and scrape the most experienced players. It's so bad now that many say that "MW2 now belongs to the hackers" and I can completely agree because 29 out of 30 games I play I run into wallhackers, and a good 10 out of 30 games there's a wallhack/aimbot. These hackers really need to get a life because they're spending 60+ hours a week using no skill, no talent hacks just to ruin the game for people who try to enjoy it hack free. Of course IW will not listen to the people so there's nothing that can be done.

Black Ops will have dedicated servers. Yes Treyarch made it but where they failed in CoDWaW (sound directionality, poor lighting, bad weapon ballistics and poorly designed maps) they promise to have all this fixed in Black Ops. So fingers crossed that we'll have a Call of Duty worth competing in before the end of the year...

Had to throw that in there lol, sometimes I rant

wow Phonix. That been on your mind awhile? lol

kidding aside tho, I totally understand and I am where you are. I must point out the guns are not made equal ( and not the way you may think) by no means and you CANNOT pay attention to the horizonal graphs that depict damage etc. I can empty a clip of 30rounds at near point blank and the sniper with a pistol kills me in 1-2 shots. WTF. ( this all in BC2 )

I also SO many times get fustrated to the point of getting mildly angry cause people kill me in a shot or two and I am reloading after emptying a clip- trying to get one single kill when the dude shoulda dropped. Like you phonix, tanked, rpg'd heli'd etc so I do get the picture _ but i had the killing issue at close range with a full auto rifle and i get pistol'd.

As much as I really enjoy FPS I am fustrated but I keep playing. I dont do COD or MW2 anymore cause the hacks are so bad it totally ruins gameplay for some of us who really wish to play fair. I really liked those two games too, especially COD modern warfare(first installment)

so what now? I can't do RPG. If several of us got together and got on a map then we could play fair. But with all of us leading different lives scheduling is impossible.

I will pitter patter at BC2 and await something else.

Yep, the more I dig into why people play BC2 are because their other games have lost their flavour. I will say though, that CoD4 is 95% of the time hack-free and has been that way for quite some time. There is just a HUGE 'elitist' community who pride in scraping average players and it kinda ruins the experience for everyone.

THEREFORE, I cannot preach the importance of joining a clan enough. Having a full squad of experienced and talented players not only makes team based FPS fun as hell, it also helps when dealing with said hackers.

For example, in MW2, we ONLY play objective based gametypes. Especially while playing as a team. That way we have a full squad of really good players to counter the hackers, and I must say, we have a pretty good track record VS. hackers. If you work together on a common objective, you can beat even the better hackers out there, since all they worry about is getting kills.

A couple weeks ago, our team got into a game with someone called 'gay' (i know i know). On the other team was a player named ~Zeus, who funny enough is one of the bigger known MW2 hackers out there, there have been hundreds of complaints on the steam forums about him. We decided to see what gametype Team Tactical would give us. Sure enough it was S&D, where a wallhacker wins every time because he knows EXACTLY where you're at and can shoot thru the walls to kill you. It's all down to two players: ~Zeus and gay. One of our members happened to be on ~Zeus' team and recorded the whole shebang of him twitching and shooting thru walls wondering why the hell he can't hit gay. Turns out gay already knew what he was dealing with. He had on a Riot Shield and was tucked into a corner of a room, taunting ~Zeus in text chat "Come on Zeus that's just pathetic you got hacks and STILL can't kill me...embarrassing!" he also had traps at each door consisting of a claymore with C4 in front of it (one man army trick). ~zeus however had sitrep and could see the clays and c4 in front of the wall. It was a standoff, and Zeus needed to actually play the objective and plant the bomb to win. Frustrated, he takes off and leaves gay, goes to plant the bomb, meanwhile gay switches classes to an RPG, fires it way up into the room, boom Zeus is dead. How embarrassing. It was really inspirational. One man standing up to a hacker and beating him with a clever and well thought out tactic. He really became my hero haha funny enough... But since then we've kinda made a pact to make each and every game hacker out there regret ever even downloading a hack. By not only using clever, proactive approaches like what we learned above, but also flaming him to the point of him leaving. ESPECIALLY when a hacker is on our team. We don't like that either, probably worse.

People need to stand up and just refuse to tolerate hacking in any form. Most people get pretty excited when a hacker is on their team, meaning they cant lose. If everyone were to just flame the guy or even leave him to play by himself then I really think we'd be making some progress.

I will say, it's great organizing scrims with other reputable clans and having heart stopping games which are fair and fun for everyone. Once again, the importance of having a clan to represent you...

We're the Che Guevera's of gaming!!

VIVA LA REVOLUCION!!!

Rant Over....

yeah same here - perhaps I should reinstall.

It does the soul good to hear a very smart player whipped a hacker and showed em that hacks arent the way to go by embarrasment. I like it.

I didn't get it due to lack of paypal/credit card. HOWEVER if you want to 'try before you buy' an awesome group of devs cracked IWnet and have made MW2 free to play with better anti-cheat systems and all DLC for free.

Yes the map packs are great, especially the remade CoD4 maps which are the best out of all of them.
