Ok Quick numbers are, sorry forgot to turn fraps on to record the bench so the numbers are from me watching:

Config: DX10 32bit 1680x1050 AAx4 HIGH Settings

NOSLI: Low 14/High 30/Avg 20
SLI: Low 17/High 43/Avg 30

I do have to say this with SLI I find the game play much smoother, doesn't feel like alot of dips. I'll run again tomorrow and use fraps to record the fps.

Lots of disappointed people on the forums that upgraded there pc's just for this game and they found out they didn't upgrade enough and wasted the money but i cant see how you can base this on just a demo anyways, new drivers will increase performance(ati owners are finding the worst performance so far with cat 7.10 but they should be out with new cats any day now.so what kind of cpu's and gpu's do you need to run this game at high resolutions with all options on high at respectable frame rates???????is there such a pc made yet????

1680x1050 pretty impressive. Looks like a winner and the hype is true.

I like it.

Yes, I know its not a quad.

The wait should be worth it

Did you get a chance to try different SLi modes?

I can deal with it not running that well compared to like UT3, but in my honest opinion I was just bored to death by the time I got to the beach with the jeep.

The game feels EXACTLY like far cry, except I had a different character, and although it may take some time to get to the alien fighting, i'm not sure I could wait. The AI is horrible, the story already sucks, and again there's nothing special about the main character that makes you want to keep playing the game. Does anyone care what happens next? The whole squad could die, and I'd be just as happy going to play something else.

I swear to god if I have to shoot one more asain who pops up in the same spot from behind a box, I might have to quit playing video games. I've seen 12yr old kids at paintball with more strategic ability than that. This game may have new pretty graphics, but "save pc gaming", I think not. At least not this gamer.

Multiplayer does seem promising and i'll definitly give that another go (when an mp demo hits). Unfortunitly I just don't think I can justify upgrading my video for this game. I'd rather just rent it for 360 and play it with less graphics if it actually ends up being a decent game.

Anyone else mess around with sandbox2? It's fantastic! They fixed a bunch of obnoxious memory infinite loop errors that kept popping up for me in sandbox1. The identical interface also makes life so much easier, in that I've already got management of most of the features down.

edit: I admit, the AI is a bit lacking from what I expected. However that might have something to do with the fact that I don't suck at outwitting computer AI. I'm sure some people would find it very difficult.

I just find games like GOW or Halo3 have an AI that is constantly coming after you or flanking you and cutting you off. Granted it's in legendary/insane modes where they pose the most threat but I like to be pressed. I know i'm "super-human" but mowing them down like zombies just wears on me. Maybe i'm just sick of run and gun and I like to approach situations from a strategic point, take out snipers or turrents first. Immobalize vehicles, then move in on cleanup. In most of todays game that just doesn't happen a lot. In the end "fun" is in the eyes of the gamer. So i hope people have fun playing this.

Run and gun games haven't appealed to me for a long time now. The Onslaught matches in Unreal Tournament 2003 were fun and I liked how Battlefield 1942 integrated multi-user vehicles into the gameplay but even those features didn't keep me for 1/100th the amount of time as Battlegrounds in World of Warcraft... I miss WoW...

i guess i'm a bit of a different gamer. while i didn't like far cry all that much, and find crysis just about as boring, i still appreciate a run and gun game. the faster the better really. Serious Sam, UT, etc. are the ones i still enjoy. i don't like strategy or sneaking around in my shooters. just look at my CS:S performance at the last LAN :P

I don't think i will be upgrading my hardware for this game it looks nice but I agree with some of the comments here about lack of AI for the game. I sure as heck am not paying $700 dollars for a new vid card to play this beast.

The AI is terrible, gameplay awful, graphics, nice, but you're gonna need a generation or two up the line to handle them at a decent res. with a decent FPS. PC gamer gave this a 98%... So this is as good as Halflife was in 1998... :?

Ok just finished benching, I only used the default app config for SLI.

Config:
DX10 32bit
1280x720 NoAA
All High Except
Med (Shadow/Shader/PostProcess)

No SLI
Low 18
Avg 57.66
High 175

SLI
Low 14
Avg 68.93
High 200

From the reviews I've read the demo's internal code is not supposed to be optimized yet, or at least it's not in this demo. Also some reviewers are saying expect poorer fps with SLI turned on. I didn't have that happen to me, but I do hope they tweak the code more for higher fps, which according to numerous sites they have been for performance across the board.

The demo definitely feels more like a beta then final so I'm curious to see what they do with the final code. Also I can say MP is a blast. Though I've been playing TF2 more than the beta mp of crysis, mainly because the mp beta is less polished than the sp demo.

Yes I wouldn't count this game out as far as Multi is concerned yet. It looks like it could be a great amoutn of fun. I love the character idea and abilities with crysis. I just need more immersive story to keep me playing. Also I want to add, ramping up difficulty so i can get 1 shot by enemies is not better AI. It's when they dive or roll away from grenades or duck when your shooting, or come at you relentlessly so you panic and make mistakes. This is the kind of AI all games should be getting ques from. Again i'm pimping Halo3 and GoW AI here. Tell me i'm wrong ;)

I think I saw them playing Halo 3 on MLG on TV one night, what a SLOW game. No doubt it takes skill with that controller thingy, but, a UT or a Quake against that... No wonder the RUN in Vegas is slower than the WALK in RvS. :P

Someone has to say it Halo's Story == LAME

It's horrible Sci-Fi. I remember being so disappointed when they introduced the flood in the 1st one, then the 2nd one back they came again. Thought they had a real chance at a great Sci-Fi epic, but instead it feels pissed away.

But for wicket AI, I found FEAR to be exceptional. I loved it when I would try to flank them and they would find a route to flank me and keep a guy to distract me.
