I didnt really play the single player. I did a little up onto the point where I am getting hammered while trying to go thru a village.

Multiplayer is awesome. But do not get discouraged cause you are getting pwned online. Takes time to get the better weapons.

If you play against a guy called "Jebus", he's using an aimbot so get him kicked asap...I'm sure there a million of those fags out there.

I saw that guy actually.

I still don't get cheating. You aren't really winning - those guys gotta really be overcompensating for some area they really 'lack' in.

I ran into 4 players so far using aimbot and i think he was one of them,i always use kill cam now and its pretty easy to spot.aimbot ruined counterstrike for me and now its doing the same for cod mw2 mp.I heard vac has a delay for banning so maybe its working but i don't put much faith in it. :(

MW2 is FULL of hacks and cheats. I've seen more hacks in the short time I've been playing it than CoD1, 2, 4 & 5 combined.

I just laugh at Infinity Ward's claims of "cheat-free" gaming. They were lying to themselves and the PC players.

Yup, hacks were available 3 days before the game was released. I have ran into numerous hacks so far, instant killstreaks, aimbots, wallhacks, you name it.

It does piss me off that this was IW's excuse for using a matchmaking service for multiplayer. They promised no cheats, well it's even worse, they promised a solid netcode where everyone benefits from their own 'dedicated servers' which is false, I get disconnected from steam and can only join parties 50% of the time, even with an open nat. The game isn't a big disappointment, I still have a blast raping and being called a hacker, and private matches are much more configurable (we had a 16 player private match on my connection last night, was ok).

Still, COD4 is competition standard and that's where I will continue to compete, as well as the rest of my clan. At least until a way to fairly balance clan matches is developed.

Yeah Phonix theres little I can add to that.

Steam intigration is a huge disappointment. Last Night steam was down for updating so I couldn't play MW2. That really ticked me off.

Finished the single player last night- good but a bit short. I haven't even thought about multiplayer- hacks and cheats simply ruin online gaming. Someone here was advertising a website to purchase hacks before the game was even released...lame.

Wow, online-wise this has to be the absolute worst shooter i've ever seen for cheese factor. I've played some horrible games too (Diakatana).

I hope dice gets a class-action against them.

You mean IW not Dice.

I mean, the game is fine, multiplayer is fun, but that's where it ends.

Steam booting me and 50,000 other players off for hours on end without so much as a warning that they were updating, the hacking does get on my nerves, but that's like 1 in 100 games I'll get that.

Balance wise, the perks and weapons and killstreaks are so unfair and unbalanced. Why would they make the game harder for low level players and easier for high level players? Now we have a bunch of noobish level 70's whooping experienced players that are only at level 10-20, because they have the better perks. In cod4, you could do just fine with the perks at the beginning of the game, and the ones you unlocked didn't help you play 10x better like they do in MW2.

Hit registration is also an issue, you can shoot someone point blank in the face and it doesn't register, fail.

Remember, I'm a competitive gamer, so I look at the aspects that will affect competition, and so far there's plenty things that will limit competition.

Oh, and as I write this, Steam is going through another 'update' and people aren't able to play. Seems like its harder to find a game then to win one.

IW FAIL!

Seriously, I feel like a little raging kid here, but this has gotten me to the point I wanna burn my PC and quit gaming altogether. Thanks IW, and by the way, I paid way too much for this POS game and I want my money back...

Like they give a damn...

Well a friend of mine mentioned that you can "offline mode" or to that effect in Steam. Which "should" still allow you to play. Well it will only allow you to play offline single player. HUGE FAIL.

I don't like being told by a 3rd party that I can't play when I feel like it. We all PAID for this game to play online when we want to. I couldn't believe steam booted me and gave me a 'no you can't play right now cause I'm busy' kinda utter garbage. another HUGE FAIL.

If the next installment in the call of duty series has Steam integration, I am not buying it. I bought the game with the freedom to play online when I wanted. Not to get booted periodically cause Steam screws the pooch or because it feels like updating. FAIL

I mean what kinda of poor app management is that. If there's an update, alert me and give me the choice to do it later in case I wanna go play online atm. Where's the common sense?

I am in total agreement with you Phonix. I noticed killstreaks were unfair and hit registration is way off. I noticed that when I unloaded nearly a full clip into someone's face and I died cause they threw a knife @ me. anyways - when steam was acting like a lil princess I went back to call of duty 4 and placed much better.

Here's to hoping a patch will come available to fix these issues - along with the availability to play online without steam deciding when its ok to do so.

Hit registration is fine, when you have a good ping, or you're the host. Otherwise, hit prediction is all over the map from game to game/host to host.

You can't think of this game competitively because IW has removed ALL sense of community with MW2 and IWnet. I had hoped it would be better, but no. IW said they spent a lot more time on the PC and IWnet but it looks like the interface was thrown together in the last week of development. VAC is a f'ing joke. There's no options for choosing maps, chat interface, kick options for idiots/hacks. I could go on and on about IW has ruined with MW2 and PC players. Infinity Ward has made their last dollar from me unless there is a drastic 180 in the direction they are going with their version of the CoD series. IW has lied to us repeatedly during MW's development.

Treyarch is doing CoD7 and it's cold war/Vietnam era based, which looks like it would be fun, just like W@W has been. There haven't been any direct assurances from Treyarch in what they will be doing with servers but their PR man did say they were "huge advocates of PC gaming" and not to automatically assume they were walking in IW's footsteps. Cross your fingers.

I've been reading that a lot of PC players are dropping MW2 and going back to MW1 and W@W. Can't say I blame them as I'm doing the same. It's 2009, almost 2010, IW has dropped the ball and instead of playing with 25+ people online in a FPS, we've gone back to 1999 with only 18 players or less.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Just think EA fired all the people who don't work on these games (yeah they only publish nowadays but we're still frakked!)

Still works!
