I guess I'm a sucker.

What happened to all the great PC titles of yesteryear?

Was sitting here thinking about all the money that I've wasted on GARBAGE PC games over the last year.

Medal of Honor - $69.99
Battlefield Bad Company 2 - $69.99
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 - $69.99x2 (I bought it for a friend)
Blacklight Tango Down - $14.99
Alien Breed 2: Assault - $9.99
Starcraft II - $69.99 (not garbage but I just couldn't get used to/ skilled at it)

For a grand total of: $374 before taxes

I could have spent that money on alot of things like food, shelter, bills, computer upgrades (finally coulda got my 2nd 5850), a trip anywhere in the maritimes including accomodation, charity, etc. Hell I could have burned my money and got more satisfaction than I did with these games.

Worst thing about it is that prices are usually $70 for PC games now, which is same price as console. Console gamers have the opportunity to trade-in or sell their used games if they don't like them. Once we buy a PC game it's generally ours forever. No refunds. If it sucks that's too bad, there's no way to recoup our loss.

Sorry, had to rant about this, as it's been bothering me ever since I realized how much money I've spent.

I'm sure I bought other games too I just can't remember because I never installed them.

Next big game coming out for me is Crysis 2, and I'll be getting it like the sucker I am, I hope to not be disappointed.

On a side note, Black Ops has already paid for itself in my books, I've been having a blast I've never had since Cod4!

I have a lot of friends that are bad for this too. I think it's a matter of getting caught up in the hype machine because where as I don't mind playing a game that's a few years old, they have to have it, and they have to have it as soon as everyone else.

I've been waiting for games to get to be like $15 on steam before I buy them. I don't feel so bad then. If I get 2-3 hours entertainment out of them then so be it. I figure if I can spend about as much as I would on a movie and get a bit longer time with them then its worth it. We've all seen crappy movies at some point. Plus since I've waited so long there are lots of reviews and game play videos I can watch to determine if it would be something I will enjoy.
