Well after a bit of hackery it sort of works, it freezes but some of the levels load. 32 bit client seems to work better than 64 bit.

Looks like a very complete game, eyefinity works and it's got decent fps.

Looks like Crytek has a winner. Definitely a Steam purchase (as long as UBB doesn't come into effect hah).

Played this tonight. It looks great. I was worried since CryEngine 3 was built to run on consoles. No, this looks as good or better than Crysis. New features and gimmicks are fun and mechanics as well.

Best thing is I run at the "Gamer" spec and get 50fps ish.

On "Hardcore" it doesn't really look any better and I only get 20fps ish.

I found way too much motion blur on "hardcore" mode.

In the root dir, i changed a line in the file "system.cfg"
r_ShadersRemoteCompiler=1
to read
r_ShadersRemoteCompiler=0

i found starting a new campaing and then just selecting a mission worked best.

And it's always stuck in DX9 mode, I'm sure DX11 looks a lot better.

The actual intro to the game is in the strat of the 2nd level, it's funny looking at all the "placeholder - placeholder" credits :P

It's not actually an ISO. It's a pre-extracted game folder. And yes I have it. Usenet ftw!

Crysis 2 will not have DX11 support out of the box, to be implemented later.

Definitely a title to buy when it's only 20$ from steam, whenever DX11 happens.

Cheaters in the demo you say? You'll fix that for the real thing, right? Hmmmmmmmm?

I would love to see that hack in action, lollerz @ console ports, in DX9.

From good 'ol Kyle @ [H]
Quote:
We have played them all! Farcry, Crysis, and now Crysis 2. If you were relying on Crytek to stress your new AMD or NVIDIA GPUs, well, you will likely have to wait another 4 years, or never probably. Crysis 2 graphics suck. Yes the graphics suck and you all know why. Crytek sold us out for a bunch of pussy 360 gamers. Gameplay is about as exciting and motivating as pulling a scab off your dog's scrotum. Open gameplay? Yeah right. Challenging? Not in the least. Crysis 2 goes into the "Never Finished" game bin with Daikatana. Come to think of it, Daikatana had better multi-player.

I don't often gripe about game devs selling out, but Crytek sure did. Crytek is not about innovative gameplay and astounding graphics any more. Crytek is about ripping me off for $60. I think Crytek would have gotten better press if it had not of even released its water-downed and anemic PC version of this "game." I hope Cevat Yerli chokes on this giant flaccid floppy penis of a game, while he is pulling out his overstuffed-wallet. Yeah, I just said that, and I meant it.

At least my 10 year old son thinks it is awesome. Wish he would give me the $60 back. Crysis 2 will be a great buy....when it hits the $2.99 price point on Steam.

Yikes, worse than Daikatana?

Duke Nukem Forever, Dungeon Siege 3 and Diablo 3...The games I wactually want to play :P

Bad review.

Even the beta was a great experience though I stopped it to wait for the finished product. The MP is really good although they really need to nix the aim assist option, that's just not needed for a pc title.

Graphics options are pretty much non-existent, which is unlike Crytek who had many different configurables in their config for the original Crysis titles (even Far Cry back in 2004).

However, the game does look amazing and on par or exceeding every other FPS out there at the moment, due to great presentation and optimizations for many different hardware configurations.

Don't count this one out yet. The aim assist is what makes it a no-go for me, but hell I'll probably buy it like I do every other game lately :( addicted..

EDIT: Since I plan on getting this for PC on Friday I might as well fire it up on the PS3 and see how well it works on console...

EDIT 2: PS3 version is awesome, feels great on a gamepad. Also I've read aim assist has been removed for the retail release of the game.

Will the multiplayer have dedicated servers? Considering how easily the demo was hacked to pieces the retail version might not last much longer :P

Just completed Crysis 2. The campaign was amazing and one of the first campaigns I actually played through in a long time.

Crytek: We thought of PC gamers first and foremost...

0 Day patch removes "auto-aim" and "press start button message" from PC version

Crytek: sh!t!

Get rid of the 360 controller support, add the ability to change video setting beyond just "low, medium, high", then charge 10$ for it on steam...and they've got a winner!
