well I am going to have to stick with 4 gigs - keeping in mind this current board doesnt allow tuning of each bank like some boards do. If that were the case, I would be tuning both sets of ram on each bank and not having issues - as i would be able to set each bank for whatever timing I want and in detail. Something for next mobo
Crucial won me over as Its so very easy to run, runs error free and gives you exactly whats advertized. I dont overclock the memory or up volts and still able to get excellent performance as they say you will , from stock. simply set the advertized volts and timings and leave everything else to auto if you want and presto.
I haven't tried Corsair, perhaps I will with the next build - which will be a well thought out AM3 socket build quad core. As stated I will make sure every component is proven to work with one another without issue.
I am dissapointed in Gskill that is THAT finicky over every single setting to the letter. If its not set just perfect - good luck in booting. Perhaps its the ram and this chipset. I couldnt be arsed to look it up to be sure but rest assured, lesson learned here. I had to go much deeper into
many settings to get it to be stable enough to get to windows.
