Hey all, just got a new family computer on boxing day. It's realy nice, here's a general overview:

X2 6000+
3GB DDR2, 667 I think?
500 GB SataII
OnBoard Video (Which is okay since it's not for me)
And a whole bunch of windows media center stuff (ie. remote, hauppage, etc)

We got it on boxing day at staples bundled with a 22" Samsung (SyncMaster 225BW). It's been running beautifully so far except for one issue:

The monitor seems to be exhibiting some weird faint diagonal scanlines that move accross the screen once in a while. I find them stronger when I first turn on the monitor, or perhaps they're just random.

It's not the biggest deal in the world but I'm just wondering what you all suspect to be the culprit. My theories are as follows:

1. The onboard video card GeForce 6150SE, wasn't designed with such high resolutions in mind (1680*1050)

2. The scanlines are a result of only being able to connect the monitor via VGA when it should really be connected via DVI at such size and high resolution.

3. Interference. Either the VGA cable is faulty, or the power source is unclean.

What do you all think? I was thinking about trying to find a cheap DVI capable PCI-E card to test theory #2 on. My 6600LE would have been perfect but it's in Ohio. :P
