Anybody? I'm thinking about the Samsung 245B right now, seems it's not without it's flaws though. I'd like to keep it under $500 before taxes, but if it's an uber LCD I'd be willing to pay more.

EDIT: this POS freaking Dell KB :x damn caps key...

as much as i hate dell this lcd is very good and its on sale. I like how it supports svideo, component hdcp, and is fully 1080p compliant with hdcp.

yeah, nothing about that. i would still say its a much better package then the samsung since i have experience with both monitors, well a similar samsung lcd. for the price its pretty sweet. anyway i just thought i would give yout some alternatives.

anopther brand to check out is viewsonic, i worked for a shop that sold them and they were really nice monitors. the 24" X-series is a little pricey though, cheapest i have seen is $699.

They are most certainly welcome.

I'm just trying to find the best LCD I can get for watching HD content and light gaming. I'm as keen about 1080 being stretched out to 1200 as I am about it being shrunk to 900, and great powers that be, how about no backlight bleed. CRT's didn't have these issues.

On a side note, anybody need a CRT, this dinosaur Samsung Syncmaster 997DF (2048x1536!) shall no longer be required when I find a 24"

I'm personally getting the 27" Samsung, they look like a good piece of kit, too bad their 30" model doesn't have any of the PiP or else I'd be considering that.

What's that CRT weigh, 90 pounds? I'd just give it away to the first person who could actually move it out of the house heh.

I have a friend whose using a 32" LCD TV for his monitor and I was pretty impressed by the setup. The screen didn't have the resolution of a monitor of course but it was totally readable and games looked good when you're a few feet back.

What really got me was how nice it was to have a quiet computer and be able to game from the couch using a cordless keyboard and mouse on the coffee table. I know, I know "Welcome to the world of console gaming Flama!" which I've done and like just fine but this was a computer so it was a bit different.

It may influence what I get for my next system, but that could be a while.

I used a 27" LCD TV for a short while but the picture was nowheres near as crisp & clear as it is on my 21" LC LCD monitor. I'm more than happy with it's 5Ms & it's 2000:1 contrast ratio. Kicks the 27" ass really.

If someone in the area sold those fabu Westinghouse 1080p LCD TV's I'd grab one in a heartbeat. 720p never was and will never be an option for me.

Screw it, ordered the 245B, couldn't see me spending a month in debt for a PVA panel that didn't even have 1:1
