well as i've been sitting with my 4870 during this heat wave, i was thinking avbout switching my video cards,

here the 4870 512mb version kicks out a shit ton of heat and scores in my system 14867 3dmark 06, and uses like 190 watts of power. where as the 4770 512mb uses like 65 watts of power, and runs much cooler underload. and a single 4770 scores 13320 3dmark06.

now its tyime to fire in a second 4770 to try crossfire

I was looking into getting a couple 4770's. They kick the crap outta the 4870.

Currently with two 3970's running and my cpu put back to stock, I get a decent 17515 on 3dmark06.

If you are running to screens for example. I wouldn't rely on those scores. When it comes to multiple LCD's , etc. You're going to one a single, powerful card.

Until drivers or something come out so we can utilize Xfire, SLI with multiples.

One monitor though... Giver!

2 Was always my minimum. But as mentioned earlier we had to deal with 2d in WoW (Steve-o).

Man I hope those drivers come out for my next build..

Crossfired 4770's are surprisingly good, considering how cheap they are (if you can find one) and how low power they are. They really should have had a single slot cooler though, then I could bench 3. And I'm only drawing 156W at the freaking desktop (with 24" LCD) not 300+ like with the 4870X2

i was pleased with my 4770 crossfire, but i needed the larger framebuffer of the 4890 in the end.
