http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=785 Here's some promising looking software that apparently brings the multi-GPU scaling closer to the 100% benefit mark than either SLI or Crossfire, plus you can mix and match GPU's of different brands and generations... although I'm sure there's some limitations to that such as only being able to run the Direct X of the lowest gen card but still. |

I just read thru that article. Amazing. Looking forward to seeing team green and ruby side by side working. Opens up several benefits, awaiting performance results here. |

I would think motherboard producers would love this as well as they wouldn't have to tailor their boards for either SLI or Crossfire anymore. Less product lines to maintain and produce which, in theory, should lower their price for the consumer. ATI and nVidia might not like it though because there goes the main reason for people to buy boards with their chipsets on them. |

who cares, let amd and nvidia fight it out and allow the consumer to reap the benifit ( if any) If thats the route it goes and ends up lowering prices all round, I am going to be one happy camper. |

What I meant from this comment was that if they don't like it they will be doing their best not to support it and perhaps even hinder it. It would be a prick-job thing to do but it could come to that. |

yes you have a point there Flama but they would be on very shaky ground with doing that. hindering a customer when all they want is performance would cause alot of people to drop them altogether. Another side of it would be people blaming the hybrid function to be less of an advantage ( mistakenly - if either ati or nvidia decided to screw with it ) and not going that route or people giving bad reviews of the board. I think the idea is great. Finally x-fire and SLI working they way it should. Ironic that someone else it making it work for them ![]() |

you mean Lucid Hydra would be on shaky ground if they didn't support it. That would suck for them.. |

I for one would really like to see this up and running and working great. kind of a piss off that ATI or Nvidia didnt do this to begin with. |

We're kind of lucky there are only 2 players in this field that matter. It was only a matter of time before some third party did their own multi GPU solution. ATi or NV will buy them just to keep it out of the market, if they are smart. |

it makes sense and it also doesnt make sense - or more like it doesn't surprise me Nvidia would do that. From my wee standpoint, if I buy an Nvidia card, I expect it to perform as advertised for the money I spent to get it. Not for them to act like a 2 yr old and take back features cause they dont like who they're sitting next to (what is this high school?) : all the same they are happy to take your money while giving you less. They are paving the way for others to develop physics by being like that. Two thumbs down for team green. |

Rumour has it they they aren't supporting the Ageia cards anymore either (Nvidia denies it but they don't work in BM AA)and are limiting CPU PhysX to core 0, which on a single threaded game, leads to some pretty lousy performance, even though you may have 3 cores sitting idle. But about 65% of people won't care, because they have an Nvidia card as their primary card, and the other 35% will be labeled a bunch of whiners. |
