if your looking for a cpu that is gonna to provide a significant boost for games, its not gonna happen. i am talking about brute performance, run SPEC on your system and compare it to scores of old quads, total ownage. actually i7 just knocked suns SPARC based system out as the worlds fastest computer, whipped it pretty good. thats an amazing feet heres a link http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/ ... orld-intel games will always be bound by the GPU, moderate cpu's will always be the best gaming cpu's because there cheap and effective, the high end only matters performance wise to those that have a heavy workload like rendering, but the may give you 2 or so extra fps in gaming for a huge markup.[/url] |

actually i am wrong nahlem offers better gaming all around even the lower end 920 is faster then the qx9770 in some games. but this is not the reason to upgrade your cpu as i have said. especially if you have 2 4870x2's and play ar resolution that are far from being cpu bound.
