I remember from a few years ago that the bandwidth cap was something like 40gb/month... I've downloaded almost double that in a matter of 2 days or so... [insert shady eyes emoticon]

Yeah I like Eastlink a lot, when I set up with them I asked them 3 times if they have issues with me downloading a metric craptonne of stuff...They throttle P2P upload traffic from what I've read, but it's not that bad. Anything over 90k/s up kills the connection anyways. Maybe one day FioS will rear it's ugly head in the HRM :P

You guys seriously need to invest some time into getting into a good tracker.. :P

I max my connection in seconds, on every torrent. Movies take minutes to download, not hours. Usenet is good, but torrents are much easier to manage. Though, I guess if you're not into seeding then Usenet's where it's at.

Edit: As for security/throttling, use non-standard ports and force encryption. Try to find a tracker than supports SSL. There's not many around though. (Again, RIP ScT)

i know people that run a 2nd puter solely for torrents. Terrabytes going all the time.

I use Torrentz.com to search and pull it from a list, piratebay, torrentportal, etc etc.

which all suck. For the few movies I do download, its still a slow long wait but eventually gets me what I wanna watch. Episodes of fringe, new movies, etc

What y'all need to do is start downloading crap you've never heard of before. Downloading for the sake of downloading is the tru calling of the freetard!

I've been on a few private torrent sites and to be honest, I always had trouble keeping my ratio up. I like to download at 1700kb/s and not leave my computer on 24/7 while hoping that people download off me at a max of 128kb/s. Both of my computers draw too much power for that lol.

Usenet isn't that much harder to manage, once you learn how to set it up. It's more or less the same as any torrent client. Download a file, client opens it up and begins downloading to your default download folder. Extract when finish and enjoy.

As long as you don't want to do anything else online when your download or upload is saturated. I keep mine at 500k down 50k up.

I use revott as a semi-private tracker, which is ratio and is a pain, but I've only had to "buy" ratio once in 4 years.
